Voluntary Health Association of Tripura.

b) Registered under 12A of Income Tax Act (Memo No .2/80G/TECH/10-11/2915-24 dated  01-02-1991)
c) Registered under 80G of Income Tax Act (Memo No: 2/80G/TECH/10-11/2915-24 dated 18-08-2010)
d) Registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act –under renewal process
e) Under Persons with Disability Act,1995(sub-section-2 of section 52)
f) Registered under section12(4) of the National Trust Act.

Initiation:
Voluntary Health Association of Tripura(VHAT) was formed as a state level net work NOGs and CBOs, by some health and science activists in 1988 with the aim to promote the Health, Elementary Education & Environment status of the state through policy level advocacy and conceptual level intervention by capacity building. It got the registration under Societies Registration Act 1860 on 12th December,1988. Voluntary Health Association of India, New Delhi, was one of the main inspirer to form this organization as State federation of Voluntary Health Association of India for the state of Tripura .

Vision:  Creating excellence in Health  and Socio Economic Development  for the people of Tripura

VHAT’s Mission is to:
Build capacity of Civil Society Organizations through trainings and IEC.
Promote social justice, equity and rights in the context of accessibility of  health services with emphasis on under-privileged sections.
Promote sustainable development, gender equity, inclusion and rehabilitation of PWDs, elementary education, implementation of child rights, elimination of all form of violence against children and women.

Objectives of the organization:
◊ Promotion of preventive & curative health service for the poor.
◊ Promotion of health, environment, gender issue, rights of children, women & PWDs, through IEC and technical support.
◊ Promotion of Elementary Education of underprivileged children
◊  Prevention of Child trafficking and violence against children & Women.
◊ Socio-economic empowerment of the women of the weaker sections.
◊  Networking with government bodies, policy makers , Corporate Bodies  & NGOs for
   improvement of health, environment & socio-economic status.
◊  Rehabilitation of persons with disability through integrated approaches.
◊  To undertake any other activities related to health promotion.

Organization strategy to achieve vision, mission and objective:
◊ Empowerment of Human Resources through trainings
◊ Working with other organizations, both Gov & Non-Governmental
◊ Collection of opinion from people/beneficiaries & grass root organizations for planning
and advocacy.
◊ Working through Community Participation and peer-groups.
◊ Capacity building of the member-NGOs/CBOs through trainings
◊ Collection, documentation & dissemination of information.
◊ Working directly and indirectly as Service Provider.
